Job Title:
Forge Setter


Location:
Washington, Tyne & Wear


Salary:
£36,060 (plus shift premium circa 35% where applicable)


What you'll be doing:


  • Working towards a standard diary of work
  • Maintaining standards across the plant (e.g. condition of machines, equipment and tools)
  • Checking quality of components
  • Preparation and monitoring of plant start up and running time
  • Use of CNC and Milling machines for forge tooling

Your skills and experiences:


Essential:


  • Time served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering area (e.g. Production, Machining, Manufacturing)
  • Willingness to work in a fastpaced hazardous environment with the ability to learn and develop in your role
  • Willingness to work shift patterns (4 on, 4 off, 12hour shifts)

Desirable:


  • Experience within a heavy engineering environment
  • Experience working with CMM's

The Forge Team:


As a Forge Setter, you will be based in an integral part of our Washington site working alongside a close knit, supportive team where teamwork and communication is vital.

You will have the opportunity to develop in the role with training delivered by our experienced forge setters.


We have several vacancies available due to the continued expansion across our Land UK sites with BAE Systems securing new orders for the supply of munitions to the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).
