Highway Inspector (Trees)
Initial 3-month contract
£415 an hour, umbrella
Somerset


Job Purpose:
The posts are key to the day-to-day management of the Highway Service, involving regular contact with the public.

You will undertake tree inventory surveys and statutory highway tree inspections to identify defects that pose a risk to highway users, respond to reports from all stakeholders of alleged dangerous conditions on the highway and issue works orders to the service provider for routine highway works.


Key attributes required:

  • You will have practical experience of highway tree inspections and be able to identify, prioritise and order necessary maintenance works. You will have the ability to evaluate information, identify solutions and be able to organise your own workload, which will be varied and demanding.
