  • Location: Five Acres Nature Reserve, Allet, Truro, Cornwall, TR4 9DJ
  • Falmouth and Mevagissey harbours/at sea. Some home working allowed where required.
  • This role is to coordinate our fisheries liaison work to foster marine nature recovery principles within the St Austell Bay and Fal estuary. This will be achieved through direct engagement with local fishers, marine businesses (including seafood sellers, restaurants, pubs and cafes) and communities to encourage sustainable practices and support for fisheries management improvement where necessary. Work will be driven by the principles of the Cornwall Good Seafood Guide. The role will continue work already started within the area to build trust and to close the gap between conservationists, fishers, community scientists and policy makers.

Are you an experienced marine biologist or fisheries scientist, with great communication skills looking for an exciting new challenge that will help work towards more sustainable local fisheries and marine nature recovery in Cornwall? Cornwall Wildlife Trust are recruiting a Fisheries Liaison and Marine Business Advisor to work specifically on the South coast of Cornwall.

This is a short-term contract until end of March 2024 with the possibility of extension dependent on funding. The job will involve one to one engagement with local fishers and marine businesses to encourage sustainable practices.
