UX Copywriter - London, United Kingdom - OLIVER
Description
Role:
Senior UX Copywriter (FTC -12 months)
Location:
London (Canary Wharf / Northampton - Hybrid 1/2 days onsite)
ROLE MISSION
Working in partnership with our client, the UX Copywriter will take a lead role in the development of product experiences and supporting content for personal finance products.
With a strong understanding of UX best practices, microcopy, testing and iterating journeys, you'll be the voice of UX writing and ToV in your project team.
You'll collaborate with product owners, designers, legal and compliance colleagues, and tech teams to develop a world-class app and web experiences.
A 'content mindset' is a must. While the ability to turn complex ideas into clear, concise and compelling copy is essential, the role is about more than just writing well.
You need a deep understanding of what makes content work, both narratively and visually, whether on a single page or in a journey with dozens of screens.
The ability to craft the optimal solution to meet user needs, often in the face of challenging requirements (because of time, technical constraints, or both), is also a key skill.
You'll need to be strongly motivated to seek out all the information you need to create and revise copy, which means having the conviction to question project stakeholders about briefs to find out answers to key questions yourself.
You'll also need to be confident in making positive contributions to meetings about the content you're creating and the general progression of projects.
Creating content according to established best practices and process is a key requirement, too - as is helping make sure others do the same.
While experience in finance or another regulated industry is helpful, it's more important that you're a quick learner who isn't overwhelmed by complexity.
Projects can have steep learning curves and plenty of jargon, and you'll need to be able to navigate bothTHIS ROLE IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF...
You have experience of developing copy for apps and websites, advocating for great user experience and collaborating with a range of stakeholders, including product owners, designers, lawyers and compliance officers
ABOUT THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING
You'll have regular contact with and support from a senior member of the client's in-house copy team, plus informal support from the team as a whole.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE
- Writing UX and supporting copy to explain how personal finance products work
- Using insights and customer testing data to iterate journeys, and make them more engaging and effective
- Advocating for customers, working with stakeholders to balance their needs against commercial goals and regulatory responsibilities.
- Managing your own workload and diary, communicating with stakeholders to set priorities and deliver work on time
- Working with stakeholders to use financial regulations to improve the customer experience rather than hinder it
WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL
- Demonstrable background writing for digital and UX
- Strong understanding of branding, ToV, content strategy and experience working with other teams in an agile environment
- Ability to pitch ideas and explain reasoning
- Experience working directly with stakeholders from various teams, managing feedback and resolving challenges
- Experience with editing the work of other writers
- Experience with writing copy in a regulated industry or business is preferable
