Description

We are looking to recruit a number of full-time Ambulance Make Ready Operatives to form part of an exciting new team based at the newly built Blackpool Ambulance Station.

Pay rate for the role is £10.67 per hour, equivalent to an annual salary of £19,473. This will increase to £11.59 per hour in April 2023. Overtime and extra shifts will be available when required.


Following completion of your initial training and site mobilisation, you will be working rolling 4 on 2 off shift pattern which includes weekends and bank holidays.

Shift times will be a combination of 5am to 1pm and 4pm to 12am on a rolling rota basis.

A UK drivers licence including C1 catagory is essential. Experience in Make Ready or ambulance logistics is desirable but not essential.

On-site parking, uniform, PPE, and full training will be provided.


Job summary


Make Ready is a system where ambulances and rapid response vehicles are prepared to an agreed standard, prior to each shift start by a dedicated team of operatives.

This includes re-fuelling, re-stocking, cleaning and checking vehicle roadworthiness. As well as the safety and functionality of onboard medical and non-medical equipment.


You will be part of an team carrying out these duties, with the primary aim of maximising the availability of front line vehicles to help provide a high level of patient care to the public.


Person profile
We are looking for positive team players with a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail.

You must be familiar with following standard operating procedures (SOP's) and have the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.


Part of your duties will require you to complete documetation and operate touch screen devices so basic literacy and numeracy skills are essential.

Whilst not physically demanding, the role requires you to be stood up for long period of time so a degree of basic finess would be an advantage.
