A bit about the role:


As a Member of Academy Board, you will contribute actively to the Academy Board's role in determining and monitoring the Academy's strategic direction, setting overall policy, and ensuring good governance.


With other Academy Board members, ensure a constructive working relationship with members of the Academy management team and provide them with challenge, advice, counsel and support.


Some of the key results for the role include:

  • To ensure that the Academy operates in accordance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements and guidance, governing documents, and governance best practice.
  • To ensure that the Academy uses its resources effectively and exclusively in pursuance of Peabody's charitable objects.
  • To uphold the fiduciary duty invested in the position, undertaking such duties in a way that adds to public confidence in Peabody.
  • To always act in the best interests of Peabody, its beneficiaries and future beneficiaries.
  • To actively participate in the Academy Board's affairs: scrutinising Academy Board papers and/ or reports, determining the Academy's strategic direction, setting overall policy, defining goals and objectives, evaluating opportunities and risks, and monitoring performance
