Are you a passionate about making a difference for children with SEND, complex needs and behaviour difficulties and you are looking for your next role in the York area? Can you support challenging behaviour in and out of the classroom?


Tradewind Recruitment are working with Primary SEND schools and alternative provisions in the Edgbaston, Birminghamarea and are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work with children with a variety of SEND and behavioural needs.

The role is full time on a temporary daily supply basis but can be extended.


The school is looking for a qualified Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic and can support a variety of curriculum activities but also be able to think on their feet and offer an alternative to classroom learning when needed.

They aim to provide an inclusive, personalised, stimulating curriculum which is enjoyable and accessible for all.


The school offers some great facilities that enhance children's learning, enabling them to thrive and flourish and become independent learners.

There are many opportunities for outdoor learning, with trips to the park and local area.

There is on site parking in a secure carpark.

Pay for these roles are from £75-90 per day. The hours are from 8:30am until 3:30pm.


With access to support from the rest of the teaching team the time spent in school will be an enjoyable one - this is somewhere that encourages learning through different experiences including outdoor learning, classroom learning, teamwork, and collaborative learning.


The school is looking for:

  • Experience of working with SEND and behavioural difficulties is essential
  • Manual Handling, Team Teach Training or Personal Care Training is desirable
  • Experience of working in a Care or Education environment is essential

Essential requirements:

  • A Teaching Assistant or Care qualification
