Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Mon to Fri 08:30 to 16:30 (part-time hours considered)


Duties

  • To ensure as far as is reasonably practicable the health, safety and welfare at work of his or her self and other staff in the work location.
  • To ensure as is reasonably practicable that those who are not employees, but who are affected by the undertaking of the Wheelchair Centre are not exposed to risk of their Health and Safety.
  • To share responsibility for departmental tidiness.
  • To be aware of and ensure that current working practices conform to the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other legislation.
  • To assist in the maintenance of stock records and care and recycling of equipment.
  • To adhere to policies and procedures including specific Therapy policies and procedures.
  • To observe confidentiality of clients and Clinical services business at all times.
  • To adhere to specific legislation affecting area of responsibility.
  • Any other duties mutually agreed relevant between the post holder and Clinical Lead.
  • To supervise support Staff, providing professional guidance and advice.
  • To participate in the training of students in cooperation with the Practice Placement coordinator and attend Practice Placement meetings as appropriate.
  • To participate in Performance Review and to carry this out with staff for whom responsibility is taken e.g. Support Staff.
  • To participate in and contribute to the organisation of the department inservice training programme.

Requirements:


  • Degree in occupational therapy.
  • HCPC registered.
  • Experience and skills of working with a variety of service users across a range of disabilities.
  • Experience of working within a health and/or social care setting.
  • Experience of supervision of staff.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organisation and time management skills.
  • IT skills.
