Working within our business support division you will provide superb legal and commercial contract management to the APEM Group. You will help to define our commercial contract strategy. This in turn will directly impact on the work our dedicated scientistsdo to help protect the world around us.

About the role

You will provide in-house legal counsel across all contractual matters, managing the company's contract review process and providing ongoing legal advice and support in relation to contract issues affecting project delivery.

The role will also have responsibilityfor overseeing all legal representation for the APEM Group, for matters such as employment law, co sec work, provide legal risk assessment to Directors.

This additional work will often involve using external law firms for specialist advice as required.

You and your team will be responsible for the management and review of all contracts and legal documentation both at tender and project award stage, and to negotiate terms and conditions in accordance with our code of business and strategy, as well as constructingand documenting legally binding amendments.

About you
You will be a qualified lawyer with significant expertise in commercial contact law.

You will be comfortable both in analysing complex documents, agreements, and negotiating to ensure that APEM Groups risks, and reputation are managed throughout the lifeof any contract.

You should be happy to "roll your sleeves up" to help get through a busy workload.

You will be ready to take on a more strategic role, tracking performance and advising our Sector MD's and the Board on commercial performance of future and current contracts.

You will also be comfortable providing general legal advice in areas outside of commercial contract law, to help the Group save time and money using 3rd party law firms.

However you will also appreciate where risks are above an acceptable level and refer tospecialists where needed and be the point of contact for all legal matters.

We are open to your location and embrace remote working, the team however and key stakeholders meet in Manchester therefore preference will be shown to applicants from Northern England.
