**Trading Standards OfficerCareer Graded PO1 to PO3:
starting salary £38,307 pa rising in annual increments to £45,711 per annum incl LW.
With a population of approximately three hundred and thirty-two thousand people, Lambeth is an inner London borough, and is situated in south London, between Wandsworth and Southwark, and is south from Westminster.
It has several distinctive neighbourhoods including Waterloo, Brixton, Clapham, Streatham and Norwood, and landmarks include Waterloo station, the London Eye, the South Bank arts complex, the Oval cricket ground and Lambeth Palace, the residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Being a fairly young borough and average age profile of 35, it is essential that the Council deliver a robust consumer and community safeguarding package aligned to the overarching objectives within our Lambeth 2030 Borough Plan.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a proven track record of enforcing letting agents, safety, virtual offices, rogue traders, illicit tobacco, and vapes.
The successful applicant will also be expected to provide a high level of professional expertise and play a pivotal role in driving compliance in these specialist areas.
You will be expected to undertake the full range of Trading Standards work and this would include:- To lead in specialist fields of work.
- Undertaking a range of proactive Trading Standards criminal investigations and formal enforcement work including investigating complaints.
- Advise businesses and community groups of on the requirements of Trading Standards legislation.
- Undertaking joint working with other internal services and external enforcement agencies.
- Utilise a variety of I.T and software packages including IDB and UNIFORM.
