Description

Due to expansion, IDH is looking to employ an experienced Labourer/Van Driver.

IDH specialises in home improvement services including extensions, home renovations, new builds, and commercial work. We also develop our own projects and aspire to be the best in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

We specialise in high-end home improvement projects and have the privilege of working in some of the most beautiful homes across the country.

Our focus is on delivering flawless quality work to our clients, ensuring they have an enjoyable and stress-free experience throughout the entire build process.

Main Duties

Perform general labouring construction tasks such as carrying materials, digging and assisting with the overall construction process.
Keep the sites tidy.
Execute safe delivery/collection of materials following management instructions/priorities between sites, head office and merchants.
Load/unload the vehicle safely and in a manner that matches the driving route.
Collecting all materials required for first day of new jobs and delivering to site.
Completing basic paperwork, such as ensuring that all purchases made are marked with job information and handed into Head Office.
Collect all fuel/merchant receipts from Site Foreman on all sites.
Weekly grounds maintenance at Newhailes Business Park and taking monthly meter readings on site and forwarding information to Head Office for processing.
Ensure the company van is kept clean, tidy and maintained at all times.

Essential requirements:

Experience of a similar role essential.
Understand the role will involve working outside in all weather conditions.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
Be well organised.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads, etc.
Have a good knowledge of Edinburgh and the Lothians.
Full clean driving licence.
Reliability, politeness and trustworthiness are essential.
Understand need to minimise travel and other nonproductive time.
Excellent time management to keep to scheduled deliveries/collections etc.
