Portman Dental Care are recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join our growing Finance team.

This position offers you the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis - splitting your week between working from home and our central support office in Cheltenham.

About the role


In our Financial Accountant role , you'll work closely with the Group Consolidation Accountant to develop a robust financial control infrastructure to facilitate appropriate financial management in a high growth business such as ours.

You'll also lead on the upskilling and development of our current financial accounting team with a strong technical skillset.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Accounting for acquired dental practices under
IFRS 3, including intangible asset valuations and accounting for deferred contingent consideration
Assisting in assessing and justifying assumptions used in various valuation processes across the Group
Recognising and assessing
IFRS 16 leases. Key finance owner of the Manhattan software which maintains the lease information and calculates the appropriate
IFRS 16 journals
Preparing subsidiary financial statements under FRS 101 and FRS 102 and liaising with Deloitte Tax to complete the tax returns
Producing various notes for the group financial statements under
IFRS
Being the contact person for the UK auditors

About you

Strong technical accounting skillset

IFRS
Experience of supporting regulatory requirements
Appropriate qualifications (ACA/practice trained)
Proven ability to implement processes, protocols and systems to support a rapidly growing organisation
Excellent collaborator and able to work cross-functionally with peers across the business
Strong communication skills
Energetic and motivated
Pragmatic approach, balancing the need for structure and process with speed and entrepreneurial agility
