A brand new vacancy has become available at our Leeds Head Office, to join our Finance department as an experienced Payroll Officer.

  • Your Responsibilities
  • We are looking to recruit someone who can initially join us on a 69 month fixed term contract, with a view to move on to a permanent position with us.

Within this role you can expect to:

  • Complete the monthly Payroll, which includes: processing of overtime using the timesheet system, making sure any deductions are processed, updating employee records for tax changes, ensuring pension contributions correctly deducted and answering any questions from employees regarding their pay.
  • Assist with checking and final approval of fortnightly timesheets, ensuring the fortnightly timesheets are filled in correctly and completely, questioning with managers and/or site employees any that look incorrect.
  • Develop monthly and fortnightly timesheet systems.
  • Deputise for Fortnightly Payroll.
  • Complete pension submissions.
  • Complete HMRC reporting.
  • Any other duties as required.
  • Demonstrable timesheetbased Payroll experience
  • Essential
  • Knowledge of HMRC regulations, including statutory payments and PAYE

  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Essential
  • Ability to review and process timesheets for Payroll
  • Essential
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and able to communicate effectively with people at all levels

  • Competent using Microsoft office and HR information systems

  • Organised and able to keep to very strict deadlines
  • Essential
  • Recognised payroll related qualification Level 3 or above
  • The initiative to question information
  • Thorough attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in system development/ improvement
  • Payroll experience from within a blue & white collar sector
