Butler Rose is working with one of the leading accident repair groups in the UK, in their search for Internal Auditor to join their Risk and Governance team.

This is a permanent hybrid working based out of Milton Keynes with travel to client sites and some element of home working (up to 40%).

Salary offered is between £27,000 - £33,000 depending on experience.


The purpose of the role is to carry out operational audits to assess company operations, processes, finances and compliance, and providing business support to improve policies and procedures.


Duties:


  • Responsible for carrying out audits from Terms of Reference writing through audit planning, audit fieldwork and audit report writing these can be short operational audits at our 20+ vehicle repair sites through to detailed functional reviews of Client Central departments
  • Prepare and present reports of audit findings and recommendations to managers and leaders and ensure these are implemented to improve Client business
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement in business processes, based on audit outcomes, to minimise risk
  • Identifying key risk and control indicators across the business and assisting in development of the Company Risk Assessment and audit plan
  • Evaluating and revising internal controls and operational policies and procedures as required
  • Assisting with the annual external audit by providing information and explanations to the Auditors
  • Understanding procedures and processes and operate them to the required standard encouraging best practice
  • Engaging with operations teams to ensure collaborative working throughout the company

Skills and experience:

  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the UK as required (estimate up to 2040%)
  • Someone who has had experience in operational audit / operational review roles (more stock managers)
  • Experience of fieldwork and cash/banking/stock checks including H&S, operational, property, work and repair signoff etc checks.
  • Part qualified or willingness to study for finance qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CIA) desirable
  • Good PC skills at intermediate level with experience working in Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Previous experience in a similar or related role would be useful
  • Good verbal, written, communication and organisational skills
  • Must demonstrate a strong sense of customer focus
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to engage across the business
