Finance SME Transformation - Project Lead

Glasgow


As a Barclays Finance SME Transformation Project Lead, you will hold accountability for execution of specific initiatives as part of the broader Transformation program focusing mainly on the strategic sub-ledger and allied initiatives.

You will be aligned to a specific Finance Transaction Cycle where you will be "hands on" in transformation activities including, planning, execution, process assessment and mapping, communications, analysis, and future state operating model/process design.

Working Flexibly

What will you be doing?:


  • Engaging with technology and business functions on strategic projects impacting systems used for Product Control
  • Ensuring any data quality /gaps are overcome by means of effective dialogue with internal and external team members
  • Producing monthly MI and contributing to the improvement of the endtoend controls
  • Performing business/data analysis to identify & document process footprints
  • Identifying key improvement opportunities in the finance processes and quantify associated business benefits
  • Analysing issues from differing perspectives or viewpoints to fully understand complexity with focus on improved delivery to customers or colleagues
  • Building and maintaining solid and effective working relationships across the relevant stakeholder universe
  • Driving continuous improvement by Initiating, leading and/or assisting in development/ implementation of targeted solutions to address infrastructure gaps or process inefficiencies

What we're looking for:


  • Minimum of 2:1 degree or equivalent
  • Numerate based Alevels and degree or equivalent
  • Broad financial services experience with knowledge of Finance process, system and technologies
  • Planning: Excellent skills in project and program planning and management

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Academic and professional qualifications that may include CA/ CFA/ Masters in Finance /Financial Engineering would be an advantage
  • Experience with product control line management roles in financial institutions, consulting or technology companies or programme/ change management roles in other industries
  • Excellent analytical skills required to perform complex analysis on the volumes and process flow to identify the root cause
  • Proven ability to network and build rapport and credibility quickly with a variety of key stakeholders (FO, Ops Senior Management, IT)
