As an Apprentice in the Partner Lending team, you will study towards either your Level 3 AAT Accountancy exams or your Level 3 Certificate in Financial Services, depending on your interests, skillset and aspirations.
The team have previously had an apprentice who is now a valued member of the team and has flourished over the last three years.
The Partner Lending team is a small team of 10 within the Strategy & Partner Finance division, responsible for supporting SJP Partners by providing them with loans to purchase clients, for marketing purposes or for a Business Sale & Purchase (BSP).
Our Partner Loan Book exceeds £800m and financial assessment (underwriting) is an essential part of ensuring new loans are appropriate for borrowers needs and situations.
As part of this role, you will prepare and assess new lending proposals for approval, in support of the provision of loans to our Partnership.
Some of the responsibilities you could have include:
- Creating/Preparation and issue of loan agreements from documents that have been received from Partnerships.
- Liaising with other teams and SJP Partners to fulfil the Partner Lending process.
- Creating payments and drawdowns.
- Reviewing accounts and bank statements.
- Ensuring our lending documents that we have created are compliant with the Financial Conduct Authority and Companies House records.
What you'll be doing:
We are looking for a confident communicator, who is able to multi-task and can maintain a professional manner.
You should have an interest in process improvement and making suggestions for change, as well as being adaptable to changing priorities.
Other required skills to be successful:
- Brilliant time management skills.
- Able to follow guidance, as well as use your own initiative.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good analytical skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
If you are interested in role, you will need to hold a minimum of level 4 in English Language and Mathematics.
