Blackburn with Darwen Borough Councils' Health & Wellbeing Team is looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to work as a Lead Health and Wellbeing Coach.

About the role:

As a Lead Health and Wellbeing Coach, you will take a lead role in coordinating the operational delivery of our team of Health and Wellbeing Coaches, whilst supporting their development and learning through training and mentorship.

You will also coordinate the delivery of community NHS Health Checks and Enhanced Health Checks ensuring a targeted outreach approach.


About you:
Here are some of the skills, knowledge and abilities that we are looking for in our Lead Health and Wellbeing Coach:

  • Robust knowledge and experience of supporting behaviour change, the importance and process of helping people (including those with a long-term condition) to develop their knowledge, skills & confidence in managing their health and the range of models and tools available.
  • Experience of people management and mentorship, with the commitment to developing performance management alongside continual business improvement.
  • Demonstrable passion for working in a health, wellbeing and physical activity setting along with the ability to maintain a focus of personcentred care and proactively develop and maintain high standards of customer care.
  • You need to be reliable, approachable, highly organised, have excellent presentation / communication skills and a flexible approach to working (occasional evening or weekend working may be required to meet the needs of the service).
  • The ability to work with challenging and sometimes conflicting work demands, demonstrating skills such as delegation and prioritisation.
