Teaching Assistant in Food Science & Nutrition (Industrial):


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


Are you enthusiastic about teaching Food Science and Nutrition and have the skills to engage, enthuse and motivate students? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your experience in teaching within a Russell Group University?


The School of Food Science and Nutrition is seeking to recruit excellent teaching assistant to enhance the development and delivery of our programmes and extend and embed teaching activities relevant to the food industry.

The role will require you to participate in supervision and assessment of food product development and food quality and safety modules.

Also, you will ensure new modules being developed comply with competencies as defined by the Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST).

You will also, support academic staff across a variety of modules on our Food Science and Nutrition programmes. This includes modules such as Food Analysis, Microbiology and Food safety, Food Processing.

Your role will also involve supervising student projects and contributing to marking of assessments. You will be making an important contribution to ensuring students receive an outstanding educational experience.


In addition to effective teaching skills, you will demonstrate excellent team working skills with an ability to work in a cross-cultural team and also possess excellent communication skills.
