Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking a Senior Social Worker for the Permenance and Fostering Team.


You will need to be:


  • SWE registered
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • To be fully involved in carrying out high quality permanence planning for children, particularly in relation to adoption, family and friends foster care and special guardianship.
  • Monitor own caseload activity on a monthly basis to ensure that any statistical information required is provided (requiring basic database entry).
  • Coordinate with colleagues and external agencies, the matching and placing of children with families.
  • Prepare and present reports to panels as required within statutory and local timescales.
  • Prepare reports for and attend all relevant meetings pertaining to progressing permanence plans for children (e.g. Permanence Planning Meetings, Matching meetings, Selection Meetings).
  • Prepare, counsel and run training programmes for prospective adopters or family and friend's carers. Compile written feedback of the outcome of the training for managers to inform further development needs.
  • Undertake evidence based assessments of prospective carers for children and use information gathered to provide analytical reports within statutory timescales.
  • Prepare, review and support arrangements that support children in substitute families through adoption, special guardianship or kinship fostering.
  • Keep up to date on relevant research and developments within adoption, fostering and other relevant areas of children's social care.
  • Participate in the relevant duty rota.
  • Provide consultation, advice and guidance to other social work teams.
  • Carry out case work recording to the standards required.
  • To participate in any training and development as required.
  • Undertake any other tasks required which helps with the development of the adoption service.
  • To undertake other duties commensurate to the grade of the post.
