Newhouse Academy is delighted by the recent Ofsted report, which graded us as 'Good' for Leadership & management, Personal development and Behaviour & attitudes.

These are the first Good descriptors the academy has achieved in 16 years and we feel it really shows our improvement journey and the team we have become.

This fantastic achievement followed GCSE results from summer 2023 that led to Newhouse Academy being placed 'top of similar schools nationally', by the Fischer Family Trust, based on improvements in Progress 8 from 2019.

In addition, we currently have a new-build underway that will provide state
- of-the-art facilities for our SEND, Technology, Science and PE departments. Set to open in Autumn 2024, the new building will also provide fabulous dining facilities for students and staff alike.

We are seeking to recruit a Lead Practitioner to join our dedicated and talented team.

This is a great opportunity for a passionate, skilled and inspirational teacher to make a substantial contribution to the next stages in our improvement journey and make our academy one where they are proud and content to teach.

We are looking for a great practitioner who:

  • Is one of "Our People"
  • Holds qualified teacher status, with Science as a specialism
  • Has a proven track record of driving high standards so that students succeed at both Key Stages 3 and
  • Has the ability or passion to coach and guide colleagues to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Is a committed teamplayer who can inspire others to raise the aspirations of students through an exciting and ambitious curriculum.
  • Has values in line with the academy's priorities of Aspiration, Integrity and Respect.

As part of our drive to increase staff wellbeing, teachers receive more than 10% of non-teaching time on their timetable.

There is dedicated CPD time each week and staff are then given time to implement this into their lessons.

We have 2 staff members who lead on wellbeing (having some fun) and run initiatives such as the staff café, staff breakfasts and earlier finish times.

If you have a strong character, energy, credibility and the ability to inspire; if you self-reflect and can motivate and challenge others; we'd love you to join us in being part of our journey.

"Doing the right thing for our people"
