Shop Floor Labourer / Trainee Press Operator

This is an exciting prospect to join our team of Press Operators on the shop floor and to be responsible for a range of functions including processing, sorting, and packing the products, as well as operating the machines and monitoring the output to check it is in line with compliance standards.

You will initially labour on the press operators with a view to moving into a press operating role, once fully trained.

Duties to include:
Emptying of machine bins that collect discarded steel ends

Assisting in the replacement of sumps to include cleaning filters, replacing with new oil

Ensuring areas between the machines are kept free of hazards

Ensuring press operators have pallets ready

Obtaining materials needed for Press Operators

Any other duties as required by the Supervisor

Once familiar with the running of the shop floor and duties required of press operators, there will an opportunity to skill up to a press operator.

You must be flexible to work on a rotating shift pattern as and when required (shift allowance to be included).

Hours of work: 6am-2.15pm, 2pm-10.15pm Monday to Friday

Once fully trained there may be a requirement for you to work an occasional night shift

Rate of pay £10.42-£10.95 per hour
