Great Bear is a leading 3rd party logistics business providing a wide range of ambient warehousing services, shared-user and dedicated transport solutions to a wide variety of customers alongside offering a flexible mix of added-value services to simplify supply chain.

We operate over 7 million of warehousing space across 30+ locations in the UK. Our distribution network spans all corners of the country.

Our Lutterworth site are now recruiting for a Transport Operations Support on a full time permanent basis.


Salary:
£25,000 per annum.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off, (6pm-6am).


Job Description:


The purpose of a Transport Operations Support is to support the performance of the transport function in delivering an efficient, compliant and service-driven operation.


Key Duties of a Transport Operations Support:

  • Correctly debriefing drivers.
  • Checking all timesheets for correct completion and ensuring all PODs are returned completed correctly.
  • Scanning and storing PODs using our document management system.
  • Preparing drivers' wallets and issuing delivery notes in drop sequence plus any other relevant delivery information.
  • Printing all despatch notes and replenishing despatch paper as required.
  • Answering the telephone and assisting with any enquiries.
  • Downloading drivers' cards / tachographs.
  • Ensuring all estimated time of arrivals (ETAs) are communicated to Customer Services.
  • Consistently updating all spreadsheets including, but not limited to; changeovers, run summaries and trailer check sheets.
  • Departing loads using Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Ensuring all uplifts are despatched in correct loads.

Qualifications:


  • Attention to detail / accuracy.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Conscientious and reliable.
  • Positive and adaptable attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
  • Good standard of computer literacy, particularly MS Office e.g. PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
