NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles.

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern is 37 hours per week five out of seven days.


This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Primary Care Pharmacy Team within Inverclyde HSCP.

As a key member of the Pharmacy Team you will assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians by undertaking routine tasks. Some of these tasks may require a moderate degree of technical expertise. You will also be required to discuss use of medicines over the phone with patients.


Following standard operating procedures, you will coordinate the collection of information, input and analyse data, update clinical records as appropriate and collate information in support of quality medication reviews.


This role will involve working with GPs and the Primary Care multidisciplinary teams to improve medicines management and deliver excellent patient care as described in the GMS contract.

This role will involve supporting delivery of the pharmacotherapy service as part of the GP contract and will provide an important function in supporting patients with their medicines

This post requires excellent communication, negotiation, organisational and IT skills.

Experience of working in a healthcare environment or as part of a multi-disciplinary team is desirable.
