This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience in Construction but who wants to teach their skills to the next generation (and enjoy more forgiving hours).

As a Construction Plant Maintenance lecturer, you will be trusted to teach apprenticeship students everything they need to know, which will mainly be Hydraulics and Pneumatics as well as how to use Excavators and Diggers.

The job in a nutshell

Salary for
qualified teachers £31,536 (unqualified is £28,000 - £29,000) as well as an
additional £3,000 retention bonus per year
-
40 days holiday - not restricted to term time meaning you can take your time off outside of the busy school holidays

4 days teaching and
1 day working from home on Fridays:
Small classes of up to 10 students for practical work and up to 20 for classroom work. You will teach these same students right through Levels 2 &3 allowing you to build and maintain a strong rapport with them
Specialised Agriculture and Sports college, meaning that there are great sports facilities and extensive grounds that you can make use of as a member of staff

What you'll need

Ability to teach students how to use excavators and diggers (don't worry if you haven't worked on these for a while)

Don't need to be a qualified teacher possible to come straight from Construction industry into this role
