We are recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join the team at our Nuclear and Infrastructure site in Lostock.

Job Purpose
This Ensure that all welds and fabrications go out as per client requirement and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Magnetic and particle testing.
Ultrasonic testing.
Carry out detailed visual weld inspections
CSWIP % visual inspection of all welds.
Calibrate test equipment.
Assess weld quality, what rework may be required. Is this within tolerance. If rework is minor, they can make call.
For quality issues outside of tolerances escalate this to Quality & Responsible Welding Coordinator.
Inspect every weld to ensure it is produced to standard in working procedures. Before during and after welding.
Assess competency of welders every two years and 6 monthly reviews.

Educational background required

Good standard of education.
PCN Level 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection is essential.
PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Inspection in Plate, NDT Instruction Writing, Butt Welds in Plate, Butt Welds in Pipe, T Joint Welds, Nozzle Welds is essential.
CSWIP 3.1 Visual Inspection is desirable.

Job related experience required
Structural steel welder or fabricator.

Any other skills / knowledge required

IT skills
Good standard of written English.
