Description

The purpose of this role is to provide safeguarding training, advice, and support to the Primary Care workforce across BNSSG alongside and with support from the Named GPs and Designated Nurses/Professionals within the ICB Safeguarding Team.

The post holder will support the design and delivery of Safeguarding Children and Adult training and evaluate the effectiveness of this training, improving the system to monitor compliance with safeguarding training and build capability and capacity within the Primary Care Networks.

The post holder will assist the Safeguarding Leads in learning reviews and enquiries, as well as statutory Review processes as required.

There will be a quality assurance function which will include review of reporting, as well as implementing and monitoring the recommendations from these reviews.


The post holder will provide professional advice and guidance to health professionals and senior managers in primary care on issues relating to safeguarding.

The post holder will support the development of local leadership to promote the strategic priorities of the safeguarding partnerships, embedding good practice and reflective learning in primary care.

At all times, the post holder will promote multi-agency/multi-disciplinary working.

The postholder will have a key role in safely cascading information between primary care and multi-agency groups relating to domestic abuse and violence, contextual safeguarding, and high-risk behaviours.

The post holder will work with Designated Professionals to develop associated workstreams associated with the ICS transformation.
