Warehouse Operations Manager
Birmingham
£40k - £42k + Bonus

My client is a 20+ year established, Transport and Warehouse business supporting the Freight industry, operating across a large and varied customer base, located at the UK's largest and busiest airports.

We are delighted to support in their search for an OperationsManager to join their very successful and growing team at their site in Birmingham, to manage, lead and develop their multi-site/customer operations.

This is a very autonomous role in which you will be playing a key part in the receiving & delivery operations and future growth of the site, where you will be tasked with leading the receiving and forwarding distribution teams including Supervisors, operatives,drivers, pickers & FLT Drivers) and to develop & implement new SOP's and evolve culture and operations as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with all staff to implement improvements across all areas, especially people development and culture
  • To develop and implement new SOP's and ensure an air of continuous improvement
  • To ensure all procedures required as per implemented SOPs are carried out efficiently and within agreed time schedules
  • Motivate all staff to ensure objectives are achieved
  • Drive company vision and culture
  • Be proactive in identifying problem areas and be creative in devising effective solutions
  • To ensure that the KPI results are managed to agreed targets and strategic plans are in place to achieve this
  • To actively support and encourage teamwork throughout the workplace
  • Take an innovative approach to leadership and development of staff
  • Be an overall key player in the future development of this large forwarding operation.
  • Measure and address the effectiveness of employee performance and warehousing activities
  • Staff training and development
  • Staff meetings / Briefings
  • Ensure all runs leave OTIF
  • Ensure health and safety standards are upheld

Key Skills:

  • Clear & proven operations management within a distribution environment
  • Excellent communication, motivational and leadership skills
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach
  • Use of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets and records
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
