Summary


This role is an exciting opportunity to help drive forward St Mary's institution-wide projects on race equality, gender equality, disability inclusion and LGBTQ+ inclusion.

The postholder will work closely with our Head of Equality and Inclusion Projects to:

create communications and social media campaigns, plan engagement events, research sector best practice, conduct data analysis, and provide administrative support for our equality and inclusion projects.


Job Details


The Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Coordinator will support the Head of Equality and Inclusion Projects support the Head of Equality and Inclusion Projects to deliver of a wide range of EDI initiatives across the University, including equality charters, culture change initiatives, and staff network support.

Alongside the postholder's working responsibilities will be several opportunities for learning and development, including attending sector-wide EDI events and engaging with LinkedIn Learning content.


We are looking for an individual who is a good written and verbal communicator, has knowledge of undertaking research to find specific information, has good organisation and prioritisation skills, is passionate about promoting EDI in University settings, and is a team player with a strong sense of commitment to team effectiveness.


We are also looking for an individual who has a good understanding of St Mary's values, experience using Microsoft Office packages (or similar), and is self-motivated with a 'can-do' attitude.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to enter the EDI field who is dedicated to supporting organisational culture change and developing their own learning.


Faculty / Institute / Department:

The Human Resources team (HR) works in partnership with departments and individuals across the University. Drawing on our professionalism, expertise and knowledge, our responsibilities range from staff empowerment to change facilitation.

The HR department also serves as project lead for three institution-wide equality charters projects: Athena SWAN, the Race Equality Charter, Disability Confident, and our soon-to-be launched LGBTQ+ Inclusion Project.
