Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) is an origination and coverage business operating across the UK and North America and is responsible for the overall management of businesses whose annual turnover exceeds £100m.
You'll be responsible for all coordination, underwriting and best efforts mandates in relation to Corporate and FS loan transactions, working in close collaboration with relevant sector teams.
This is a role that matters as you'll shape, drive and embed the medium-term distribution strategy for Corporate and FS transactions as part of the broader Syndicate & Sales team strategy.
You'll provide leadership, direction and support to a team of Syndicate specialists ensuring the Corporate and FS, and broader Syndicate & Sales budget is delivered and income generated through ensuring customer & investor needs are met.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage, coach and lead the Corporate and FS Loan Syndicate team to deliver objectives
- Lead on client pitches to win coordination, underwriting and best efforts mandates. Lead successful syndication/sell down of any underwritten financings
- Manage market risk of underwritten transactions, provides input into the development of compliance policies, develops underlying procedures and monitors their implementation for area of responsibility within the organisation.
- Manage the development and delivery of budget plans for Corporate and FS Loan Syndicate.
- Proactively engage in portfolio reviews and driving origination activity
- Support the team in managing strategic client relationships, increasing share of mind, and driving revenue opportunities.
- Manage relationships with the sector teams and other internal partners including the wider Syndicate Teams, Loan Sales, LBCM, Risk and Client Products.
- Represent Lloyds on transactions and at various industry or market related events.
- In conjunction with other partners, develop and deliver a distribution strategy for Corporate and FS sector assets which will include identifying additional distribution channels and potentially new product opportunities.
- Takes ownership for implementing the customer needs strategy.
- Will sit as a rotating member of the Lloyds Bank Underwriting Committee.
- Strong and established relationships with a broad range of borrowers, advisors, banks and investors
- Expert in the Corporate and FS syndicated loan product and structures
- Proven track record of leading transactions from origination through to execution and of delivering successful syndication strategies
- Knowledge and experience of other debt financing and risk management products (e.g. bonds, USPPs, derivatives)

This role has been identified as Manager of certification employees under SYSC R as defined in the FCA Handbook(1) The function of managing or supervising a certification employee, directly or indirectly, is an FCA-specified significant-harm function.(2) A function in (1) is not an FCA certification function for that firm if it is performed by an SMF manager of that firm.
