Description
The post will be held by an academic who will carry out some course management activities and teaching duties for the Apprenticeship courses in the School of Engineering while providing support for the full range of School tasks.
The development of scholarship within their discipline through research, knowledge transfer or professional practice is encouraged.About you**

Carry out all core activities in two main areas: learning and teaching; and administration, management, leadership and citizenship; and
To achieve some higher-level achievements in these areas with national impact in their discipline.
Subject expertise in one or more of the following areas is required:
Teach and undertake teaching-related duties in one or more of the following areas of
Railway Engineering:
Signalling and Control, Electrical Services and equipment related to Rail Engineering, Track, Traction & Rolling Stock at undergraduate level which will enhance the quality of the student experience.
The skills and experience you will need to be successful
Evidence of a reflective and thoughtful approach to pedagogy with emphasis on: effective communication; the use of stimulating and effective learning and teaching strategies; and the development of effective blended learning strategies with emphasis on digital/virtual learning for remote delivery.
Ability to take a leadership role within the Division with a proven record of management skills including the ability to motivate staff.
Able to demonstrate an ability to successfully undertake the management of projects.
Ability to work as a team member to enhance the quality of taught provision, increase levels of student satisfaction, improve levels of student retention, progression and employability, and support student enterprise activities.
Details about the role
This is a full time, fixed term contract until 29th June 2024
Please note that the University is operating a hybrid working model which means a mix of working on site and from home, confirmation of days worked on campus are arranged with the line manager.
