MASH Duty Support OfficerLondon
£1- To provide a first point of contact for Barnet Children and Families Service for
professionals, Barnet residents and service users.

Key accountabilities/duties/responsibilities:
- To work proactively and cooperatively with the MASH Manager, Social
ensuring that referrals receive a rapid and appropriate response.
- To ensure effective collaboration with major partners within the MASH hub
Barnet's early intervention services.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with other teams within

- To provide a comprehensive administrative support service to the MASH team
- To demonstrate a clear understanding of the meaning of safeguarding as
- To gather and record highly sensitive and confidential data on the designated
- To use knowledge, skills and initiative to obtain comprehensive detail from
the first point of contact.
Knowledge, training and experience
Experience of Electronic Document Records Management Systems
- Extensive knowledge of business processes in relation to Social Care, Early Intervention and Early Years
- Proven competency to handle personal and sensitive information in a secure and appropriate manner over the telephone
- Ability to prioritise work and to work on own initiative in a methodical way
- Able to work as a member of a team
- Successful experience and /or knowledge of working within a local Authority, or in an equivalent organisation/ environment
- Understanding of the principles of safeguarding with a record of achievement and commitment in improving the safeguarding of children and young people.
- Experience of working in an office environment
- Knowledge of Local Government Services
- Awareness of Children's Act & DOH guidance, Working Together to Safeguard Children
- Knowledge of Data Protection Act
- Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities
