To be responsible for ensuring the MDT meetings within Radiology run effectively, are well structured, all patients discussed and the whole patient journey is accurately recorded on the Radiology Information System (CRIS) system The post holder will ensure that there is robust identification of patients under Radiology care, facilitate processes to ensure adequate clinical governance procedures and help identify patients appropriate for noncomplex appointments and complex general anaesthetic appointments.

This will include working with the current Radiology department clerical team to ensure all patients receive diagnostic imaging within the correct national and local timeframes.

The Post holder would also be required to support general admin duties within the team when there is reduced MDT Capacity or reduced Admin Capacity.


  • To actively track patient's progress through the patient pathway to ensure that care is carried out in a timely fashion on a daily basis and follows escalation and tracking on a PTL (patient tracking tool).
  • Specific co-ordination and auctioning of process of cross site referrals to another specialty (internal within the Trust)
  • General co-ordination and action MDT outcomes and recording of progress on RIS.
  • To facilitate and co-ordinate the administration functions of the multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • To ensure that all patients are identified and discussed at MDT meetings.
  • To ensure patient diagnoses, investigations, and management and treatment plans are completed and added to the patients notes / electronic clinical reporting database in a timely fashion.
  • To coordinate with Clinicians with regards to patient's diagnosis, clinical decisions and clinical appointments.
  • To coordinate with pathway coordinators to ensure patients have a booked appointment, investigation and procedure and record details of patients coming via a different route on appropriate electronic systems.
  • To work with key MDT members to identify areas where waiting time targets are not achieved, undertake process mapping to identify bottlenecks.
