Our Contract Research division works closely with a global client and partner base to bring a diverse array of important novel tools through to market via rigorous development, testing and evaluation studies.


Your role


We are looking for dynamic, self-starting scientists to work in our contract research team in the role of Research Assistant.

As integral part of the team you will play a key role in delivering a diverse range of commercial client projects based in the UK and internationally.

Your role will involve assisting in the design and implementation of scientifically rigorous experiments to test the efficacy of arthropod control products and after-bite treatments following WHO protocols, Good Clinical Practice and Good Laboratory Practice, and in the maintenance of a range of arthropod colonies.

You will be a motivated scientist with a strong entomology skillset and a strong team player able to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external parties.


Main responsibilities (all levels)

  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of experiments with mosquitoes and other insects inside the laboratory and in the field. This will involve exposure to insect bites.
  • Assist with insectary work including rearing mosquitoes
  • Source materials and equipment for experiments
  • General laboratory duties, including preparation of chemicals
  • Assist with preparation, completion and filing of clinical trial documents
  • Assist with the safe conduct of clinical trials
  • Assist with lab management and/or study conduct in accordance with GLP
  • Liaise with members of the public, administrative and support staff
  • Assist with other administrative and research activities where required.
  • Contribute to public engagement events
