Job Purpose Statement
We are looking to recruit a smaller companies equity analyst on our European team.
In the role you will initially be focused on enhancing our coverage of the European small cap market with responsibility for several sectors.
In time, the role may lead to fundmanagement responsibilities. You should be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a large team environment.Role Responsibilities
In this role you will deliver long term small cap investment opportunities. Ideas will be sourced from both internal discussion e.g. with other Columbia Threadneedle analysts and through meetings with managements and brokers. This will involve chairing companymeetings, writing stock or sector review notes and providing investment recommendations to the team. The role may involve European travel.
You will engage and debate stock ideas in a constructive manner.
You will manage relationships with internal clients (other investment teams, sales team, institutional team, etc). and external clients.
Good communication skills are a prerequisite for both internal investment meetings and external marketing.
Key Capabilities:
- Company analysis.
- Strong modelling, valuation and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to deliver high conviction stock recommendations.
- Ability to identify key strengths and weaknesses of a business model.

- Advanced excel skills
- Previous asset management or investment analyst background
Desired Capabilities:
- Previous experience in smaller midcap company analysis
