GLL is looking for an Extreme Assistant to work at Clissold Park's Splash Pad over the summer period.

The Extreme Assistant will liaise directly with The Assistant Manager and Duty Manager at Clissold Leisure Centre to ensure smooth daily operations, efficient access control and supervision & maintenance of the Splash Pad.

This will Include operations, health and safety, stock control, programming, promotion, and ensuring excellent customer services.


The General Assistant is the front line ambassador for GLL and the Better service and will act as the first and last point of contact for our members and customers.

You will lead and set a standard of customer excellence for each and every customer who visits the splash pad.

This role will be on a fixed term 16 hour contract from 29th April - 3rd September, weekends only.


What you'll do:


  • Build a high profile rapport with customers and create a fun, quality 'customer experience' within the splash pad.
  • Ensure customer compliance with splash pad rules and procedures
  • Ensure the highest quality standards of customer care and service delivery are achieved
  • Ensure that the area is as safe as possible and is free from debris and fault
  • Maintaining cleanliness through out the shift and end of night deep clean
  • Selling of good for resale products & retailing merchandise to achieve performance targets set
  • Effectively handle and be accountable for any payments taken through front of house
  • Assist customers with booking enquiries, promoting use of the Better UK app

What you need:


  • Very strong communications skills, the maturity and ability to proactively engage with a diverse group of customers
  • The ability to effectively promote the service
  • The ability to deal with customers, their queries and concerns with empathy, tact and sensitivity
  • Excellent initiative and problemsolving skills and the ability to make customer service decisions
  • The ability to make a positive difference to the customer, delivering high levels of service excellence with mínimal supervision
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • IT literate
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • The ability to remain calm, friendly and professional in difficult and/or stressful situations.
  • Be able to use a mix of active listening and intuition to promote selling of goods for resale
