This role will be offered on a Fixed term contract basis from April 2- Oct 23


The main purpose of the role is to act as a marker to assist North Air drivers to reverse safely, in the effort to reduce accidents when reversing.

North Air banksman are there to warn the driver of an impending collision.

North Air banksman are required to operate in the following areas:

  • Airside
  • Depots
  • Other areas as identified by supervisors or Site Managers

Operations (Ramp and Depot):


  • To understand the key issues arising out of reversing and manoeuvring
  • Complete Pre Start checks as per task breakdown
  • To drive company vehicles airside and within the depot safely
  • Loading tankers and completing relevant paperwork
  • Ramp Pass paperwork / documents to North Air Staff, handling agents or Airline staff
  • Ramp Conduct manual handling tasks to move fuelling steps to position prior to fuelling or to recover under tow to the airport depot for maintenance

  • Conduct continuity testing of bonding cables


  • Depot

  • Assist in loading tankers in order to contribute to operational performance


  • Depot

  • Assist in other depot tasks depending on training and experience under instruction of Supervisor


  • Depot

  • Conduct site HSSE tasks in order to support the operation


  • Depot

  • Provide desk telephone cover as required

Health and Safety:


  • To work safely at All times
  • To identify areas of danger out on the apron
  • To identify areas of danger for reversing vehicles
  • To be competent and confident in the use of HSE code of signals and reversing procedure
  • To Report Safety Incidents

Other:


  • Additional duties may include: Loading Fuel quality checks, General yard maintenance, Some data entry work, Desk Work
Salary for this role is £21,255 plus a shift allowance of £ paid monthly).
