Cleaning Night Area Supervisor in London Victoria


Our client is a multi-award-winning commercial cleaning & facilities management company, with an expert focus on high-end commercial clients, from luxury retail to education, corporate offices, and even royalty.

Having started as a family business, it now employs around 1300 staff and has over 600 sites, or clients reputation is based on a strong emphasis on sustainability and care for its people.


ABOUT THE ROLE
Shift: 11 pm - 4am


PURPOSE

  • Support Area Operations Managers and Regional Operations Directors
  • Carry out specialist cleans, such as carpet cleaning (training provided)
  • Cover emergencies, such as absent cleaners

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cover in the event of an emergency
  • Manage and arrange teams on jobs
  • Assist with starting up new contracts
  • Manage a team of around 10 cleaners
  • Report to an operational director

SITES

  • Proactively visit sites, spotchecking for cleaning standards, staff attendance, uniforms, etc
  • Check cleaning cupboards for stock and place orders as required
  • Check cleaners' attendance for the payroll department and report absences/changes
  • Start up new sites arrange cleaning equipment, supplies, and cleaners

CLEANERS

  • Meet the staff on site to train them, as directed by your line manager
  • Arrange cleaners for oneoff cleans and check cleaning standards after work is finished

  • Upholstery cleaning
  • IT cleaning
  • PAT testing
  • Delivering supplies

REPORTS

  • Sign off oneoff wage forms for the payroll department
- +Report all staff changes (absence, starters, leavers, etc) to the payroll department

  • Attend monthly meetings

REQUIREMENTS

  • Highly proactive, flexible, enthusiastic, and pragmatic deliveryorientated approach with 'can do' attitude
  • Excellent planning, organizational and prioritisation skills
  • Able to work autonomously, and comfortable with rapid change, as well as working as part of a wider team
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • IT literate (MAC and PC) good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer
  • Previous cleaning industry experience required (3+ years)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Competent levels of planning and organization
  • Numeracy and literacy to a good level
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • A strong work ethic
