£32500 per annum, plus 15% shift allowance and benefits
Acorn is currently recruiting for a Team Leader to join their client's Tooling Department, at their site in Corby, East Midlands.
As the successful applicant, you will lead a small team within the Engineering Shop reporting to the Tooling Process Manager, working 40 hours per week on a 15-shift pattern, covering Monday to Friday days, backs, and nights.
Within the role, your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:- Ensure the team conduct all aspects of the job in a safe manner and adhere to statutory, mandatory and works safety regulations, procedures and policies
- Distribute daily activities and ensure that your team have all the information, equipment, tooling, materials and competencies required to carry out the work in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain discipline within the team and be responsible for all disciplinary standards within their control
- Provide supervision of contractors, working within their area of responsibility
- Ensure work is completed to the required schedule, quality and correctly recorded in SAP (maintenance management system)
- Machining work on a range of machines; CNC lathes/mills, specialist roll stand lathes, manual centre lathes, milling machines, slotters, grinders etc.
- Collection/delivery of test piece samples and roll stands around site
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in the area
- The jobholder must be a time served indentured mechanical craftsman
- Must have proven experience of supervising a craft workforce
- Any safety accredited course would be advantageous (E.G. IOSH or NEBOSH)
- NVQ level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
- Should have basic computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
- Experience in operating CNC machines is advantageous (Fanuc, Philips, Heidenhain, Siemens, Prototrak)
- Be capable of interpreting technical drawings and standards
- Be able to complete manual tasks up to 25kg in weight
- Advantageous to have previous experience operating overhead crane up to 10 tonnes (training provided)
- Valid driving license
