We have a once in an AMP opportunity to join our team as a Data Specialist working for the newly formed Drought Response Team (DRT).
Your role will report the Water Resources situation across the Anglian Region and form a key role with both tactical and strategic drought response.
Your role will require you to maintain existing reports while looking for opportunities to enhance and automate them, produce new reports based on additional data sets.
You will be helping to turn large and varied volumes of data into meaningful information to help drive optimal tactical and strategic decision making.
Key responsibilities include:
Analysis of hydrological and climatic data (incl. rainfall, soil moisture deficit, river flows & groundwater levels).
Support in the production of water resources situation reporting, producing the monthly report for the business (incl. reporting weekly reservoir levels and refill statistics).
Running hydrological, hydrogeological and reservoir models to predict the operational impact of potential drought conditions.
Enhanced monitoring of the water resources situation under drought conditions, as applicable.
Support in production of hydrological impact assessments to support abstraction licence conditions.
Support in the production of key hydrological information required within the statutory Drought Plan and ensure data/triggers are embedded in BAU operations.
Drive continuous improvements to situation reporting through digital transformation, external benchmarking and learning from the wider industry
What do you need?
Working knowledge of Telemetry Systems, GIS Systems, Data analysis
Prepare high quality written technical reports
Prepare and deliver presentations to internal stakeholders
Effectively manage key internal stakeholders
Knowledge of Power BI is beneficial but not essential
Experience with data management & analysis
Experience working with leaders across multiple business streams beneficial but not essential
