We are now looking for a Financial Controller to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an incredible opportunity for a qualified accountant with budget, forecasting and management experience to step into a leading role within our business.

You will have the chance to play a key role in our financial strategy, providing guidance, reports and leadership to ensure the continued prosperity of our company as we embark upon another century of supplying the UK with exceptional Somerset cider.


The Role

As the Financial Controller, you will deliver high quality, robust financial information to the business, specifically the Finance Director and the senior management team.

Ensuring all of the company's financial controls are in place and adhered to, you will play a key role in implementing our financial strategy to ensure the sustained, profitable growth of the organisation.

Integral in the financial planning process of developing and reviewing budgets, you will challenge the budgets and forecasts to ensure they are robust and ready for review by the Finance Director.


Additionally, you will:

  • Assist in the compilation and review of the monthly management accounts
  • Prepare the draft statutory annual accounts and year end accounts for review by the Finance Director
  • Provide budget reports to senior management
  • Monitor and analyse monthly operating results against the budget
  • Oversee payroll and act as cover when necessary

About You
To be considered as a Financial Controller, you will need:

  • An ACCA and/or ACMA full qualification
  • Experience of preparing management accounts for a similar sized business
  • People management experience
  • Experience of budget setting, budget comparison and forecasting
  • Experience of delivering system improvements and producing reports to board level
  • The ability to extract raw data, manipulate it, draw conclusions and report
  • Knowledge of VAT, corporation tax and accounting standards
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in IT
  • A full, valid driving licence
