The role
As a Business Improvement Lead
  • Effectors
you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

The Business Improvement Lead that can work independently to initially develop and execute our Effectors Line of Business improvement strategy that is aligned to our Mission Systems company strategy.


Day to day,

  • Work collaboratively with the delivery and technical functional side of the organisation to develop and ensure alignment the Line of Business improvement strategy that supports our growth ambition and overall company goals.
  • Lead the identification of improvement opportunities in line with the strategy across the Effectors line of business to remove 'waste' and streamline our design, build and support operations. Including analysis of data/metrics to understand potential value stream improvement opportunities.
  • Development of business cases and project plans (such as, schedules, delivery methodologies, stakeholder and communication plans etc.) and monitoring and report progress adherence to the baseline plan throughout execution.
  • Lead the delivery of approved improvement projects in line with time, cost and quality ensuring benefits are clearly defined and realised.
  • Coach project delivery leaders in lean awareness and implementation of change and support companywide training and upskilling.

Essential experience of the Business Improvement Lead
  • Effectors


  • Green Belt (or above) in Lean/6Sigma essential
  • You will have knowledge of engineering projects and the various delivery lifecycle/stages.
  • You will have experience operating in a similar role with demonstratable handson experience of improving process and delivering change utilising best practice tools and techniques.
  • You will have the ability to inspire others, influence and negotiate at all levels.
  • You will be comfortable challenging existing ways of working in order to drive efficiencies.
This role is a hybrid role with 1-2 days per week based at the office in Bristol.

This role can be based at Ashton House, Bristol or Devonport, Plymouth, with occasional travel between UK sites to meet business requirements.
