Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality care and support to young people with Learning Difficulties in a supported living setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development towards independent living.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Planning and Implementation:
Develop and implement individual support plans tailored to the needs of each person with Learning Difficulties
Mentoring and Guidance:
Act as a mentor and role model, providing guidance and support to people with Learning Difficulties in developing life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and personal care.
Team Leadership:
Lead and motivate a team of support workers, ensuring effective communication and high standards of care.
Safeguarding:
Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding policies, recognizing and responding to signs of abuse or neglect.
Reporting and Administration:
Maintain accurate records and reports on young people's progress and any incidents.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and other professionals to support the young people's needs.
Crisis Management:
Respond effectively to emergencies or challenging behaviors, using de-escalation techniques and following protocol.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Additional qualifications in child and youth care, psychology, or social work are desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a support worker role, preferably within a youth care or supported living environment.
- Proven experience in leading a team or supervisory roles.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legislation related to youth care.
- Competency in report writing and maintaining records.

- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Pay:
£11.00-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
