As an independent, family-owned service provider across Lancaster and Morecambe, we take a personal approach to providing care. Every client is supported with a bespoke care plan that highlights independence, safety, and comfort.

And we're looking for a Social Care Trainer to ensure our team is up-to-speed with the latest knowledge and best practice to deliver this bespoke care.

To deliver this role, we're predominantly looking for someone with a wealth of social care experience, so you may be a senior carer or team leader in a care setting looking to focus on training, or an experienced social care trainer already.

You will teach our team to deliver all aspects of care safely and correctly through your experience, knowledge and enthusiasm.

We have a suite of learning plans to follow, whether it's teaching the basics of personal care, how to correctly administer medication or showing the practicalities of changing a catheter bag, it will be your role to bring this training to life.

We support people who have a number of needs, including mental health, learning disability, autism, older people and physical disabilities.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing mandatory training (including the Care Certificate) to all new employees, including first aid and people moving and handling
  • Completing refresher training and observing competencies in the community
  • Evaluating how effective training has been
  • Keeping training records for staff

Skills and experience:

  • You'll need a good knowledge of social care as well as excellent presentation skills and the ability to motivate others
  • Qualified to at least Level 3 in health and social care
