Description
The post holder will have the responsibility the digital transformation of the Pathology IT systems for Whittington Health including their interfaces and integration and leading on IT readiness for a transition of services.
The post holder will be responsible for the safe use of Digital Pathology systems in the pathology department and ensure staff are adequately trained to use the systems.
The post holder will act autonomously to communicate with users of all supported systems and their suppliers to understand, troubleshoot and rectify problems.
Additionally, the post holder will sit in a key Pathology/IM&T interface position and on behalf of the organisation they will lead on the IT and data readiness for the trust strategic move to an outsourced Pathology service provision.
Minimising pathology systems downtime by effective business continuity and downtime recovery procedures
Building resilience OOH by ensuring staff are aware of business continuity
Ensuring effective governance compliance and procedures are in place
Ensuring rapid and effective troubleshooting and procedures in place
Accurate record keeping
Service planning, transformation, and development
Data collection and analysis to support business cases to drive the imaging service forward
Ensuring Pathology systems contribute to effective patient management within Pathology and the wider Trust and satellite sites
Effective project management of all system transformations with Pathology and throughout the Trust liaising with the Trust IM&T department
Responsible for overseeing the training of clinical and non-clinical staff who use the pathology systems
Manage staff in the Pathology IT team

The post holder will have key working relationships with the Pathology manager, other Pathology IT team members, heads of departments, the clinical Pathology team, administrative staff, referring clinicians, the Pathology Procurement delivery group, IM&T and governance.
