£40,000pa to £45,000pa DOE

Night shift - Monday to Thursday 9pm to 7.30am (40 hours per week)
Are you familiar with pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC's, inverters and controls?

Do you have a strong mechanical or electrical maintenance skills with experience working on industrial machinery?

If you have answered yes, then I want to speak to you


As a Maintenance Engineer for one of the UK's largest steel stockholding companies, you will be working a night shift, completing electrical and mechanical PPM tasks, inspecting, fault finding and repair of production and fabrication machinery and equipment.

You will be proactive in identifying potential machine upgrades to improve efficiency and productivity.


Due to the location of the position and in case of a situation where you will need to drive the company vehicle, a full UK drivers licence is essential for this positon.


What you will be doing:


  • Performing PPM routines and condition monitoring of production machinery and facilities as per the inspection schedules
  • Maintaining accurate records of findings and works carried out
  • Liaising closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and operations staff in all aspects to ensure efficient, effective and planned reactive maintenance at all times
  • Making safety inspections of tools and equipment
  • Diagnosing faults and repairing machines in a safe manner to minimise downtime and cost
  • Anticipating machine failures and making such changes or recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and to minimise downtime
  • In house fabrication maintenance including welding (mma, mag & mig), flame cutting, plasma cutting. Handling power tools including, but not limited to, abrasive wheels, plasma cutter, mag drills and punch
  • Being proactive in identifying and carrying out potential machine upgrades to improve lifespan, efficiency, productivity or safety of the machine and communicating these to the management team for consideration

About you:


  • Strong mechanical or electrical maintenance skills with experience working on industrial production and fabrication machinery
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC's, inverters and controls experience
  • Knowledge of various mechanical drive arrangements
  • Ability to fault find, have strong problemsolving skills and confident in completing diagnostic checks
  • Full UK drivers licence is essential
  • A forklift or MEWP license would be desirable
