Year 1 Teaching Assistant | Uxbridge

Are looking for an opportunity to build a great skillset or further your existing teaching experience?

Ortus Recruitment are currently seeking a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and multi cultural primary school. Located in Uxbridge, the school takes pride in fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere for both students and staff.


We have an agreement with the school to turn our temporary staff members into permanent ones. This is based on those individuals who show commitment and desire

Year 1 Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Year 1 teacher in planning and delivering creative and interactive lessons.
  • Provide oneonone support to students who may require additional help.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of students' progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and effective teaching team.

This role will also involve assisting pupils with additional needs including Autism. Experience in this area would be an advantage_


Year 1 Teaching Assistant Requirements:


  • Have at least a Level 3 Teaching qualification or hold a degree.
  • Previous experience working with young children, preferably in an educational setting (36 months).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a passion for supporting children's learning.
  • Knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum is advantageous.

Knowledge of Makaton or PECS is an advantage_

£85.00-£95.00 per day
