UCL's Mail services team is based in a central post room in the Institute of Education and provides a delivery and collection service across all UCL.


About the role:


In this job you'll provide reliable and high quality internal and external mail services between sites at which UCL operates.

This includes collecting, sorting and processing all incoming and outgoing post, preparing outgoing post ready for collection, maintaining accurate records for the receipt and dispatch of special deliveries, and operating fleet vehicles including cargo bikes, ensuring vehicle log books are maintained and daily vehicle checks undertaken.


About you:


To do this job you'll need relevant experience in a comparable environment (mail room, goods in, storage, dispatch, logistics or similar.) You'll be qualified to drive delivery vehicles, with experience of driving in central London or a comparable environment.

You'll need good basic IT literacy and the ability to use basic IT systems and other essential equipment necessary for controlling and recording the flow of mail and other items.

You'll be a good communicator, able to liaise effectively with a wide range of staff, students and service providers.

You'll have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, the ability to work unsupervised, and a strong team and customer service ethic.

You'll also need to be physically able/willing to perform delivery and collection duties requiring handling and carrying mail bags and other bulky items.
