Summary

Thank you for your interest in this TA3 position. The post will commence in September 2023, or as soon after. The successful applicant will work in the school's SEN unit, the 'Olive Class'. The unit was opened in January 2023 for children in Key Stage 2 with Social Communication and Interaction Needs. The unit has the capacity to support 8 Key Stage 2 children. All of the children attending the SEN Unit have Education, Health and Care Plans.

Children accessing learning in the SEN unit have a highly personalised curriculum to meet their individual needs and outcomes within their EHC Plan.

Where possible, children will access some lessons within the mainstream classes.

Again, this is personalised to the needs of the child and what they can or cannot access within the mainstream.

The successful applicant will be expected to enhance the learning opportunities for each child by working within the classroom, at playtimes and at lunchtime, when relevant.

Experience of working with children with additional needs is an essential requisite of the person specification.

This is a part time (30 hours per week - start time 8.30am to 3.30pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch) and temporary position in the first instance.

Lancashire County Council has a Policy Statement on the Recruitment of Ex-offenders this is available to all applicants upon request.
