Description
We are recruiting for an Optical Advisor for an expanding and fast-paced opticians in Reading town centre If you are tenacious, ambitious individual looking for career progression in a customer orientated position then this role is ideal for you.
Key responsibilities
- Assist customers with their journey finding the correct product, providing great customer service whist upselling where appropriate.
- Create great first impressions to customers and patients
- Understand the needs and desires of each patient and ensure they receive the best eye care possible.
- Always look presentable as you are the face of the business.
- Be discrete and sensitive to customers' requests when needed
- Discuss all options with customers and recommend the most suitable for the patients
- Have good knowledge of products the business provides and sells
- Follow the customers journey including fitting, adjusting, and offering future adjustments
- Respond appropriately to patient's feedback, concerns, and complaints.
- Aim to overachieve on your targets and KPIs
- Ensure the stock is merchandised, priced, clean, tagged and well presented at all times.
- Maintain good & informative relationships with all suppliers.
Administration:
- Have good IT skills and computer literacy
- Make sure administration is completed thoroughly and correctly
- Ensure all dispensing invoices, delivery notes, returns notes & credits are dealt with accordingly & on time.
- Ensure the tills are used correctly and carry out all the banking procedures, including cashing up, correct use of the safe and daily banking.
Personal Development:
- Participate fully in your onetoone meetings, training, meetings, and other events designed to enhance the practice and the team.
- Maintain your own personal development plan and continue to learn and develop your professional and people skills.

Please note the working hours are Monday-Saturday 8:45-17:30 with a day off in the week (therefore a 5-day working week).
