JOB DESCRIPTION:

The role objectives are to:

  • Analyse an existing Solaris 10 platform to determine an approach workload consolidation approach and work with the architect and project manager to develop a project plan
- define technical packages to consolidate the Solaris 10 environment and liberate spare hardware

  • Define technical approach to migrate Solaris virtual workloads from old to new Data Centre
  • Support the architect in creating a design for a new Solaris 10 platform (build from equipment liberated by the consolidation)
  • Build the new Solaris 10 platform in the new data centre
  • Migrate the virtual Solaris workloads from the old to new data centres
